Patrick G. Schiller, beloved husband, father, grandfather, educator, veteran, and outdoorsman passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born and raised in Alhambra, California, Pat attended Emery Park Elementary School and graduated from Alhambra High School. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout, a distinction that reflected the values of service, leadership, and character that guided him through his life. He continued his education and Pasadena City College and later earned a Bachelor of Scient Degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
Pat proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968-1974. Following his military service he dedicated his career to education, teaching elementary school and middle school science in the Bassett Unified School District. He inspired generations of students through his enthusiasm, patience, and commitment to learning until his retirement in 2006.
He cherished the mountains, respected the environment, and had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and wildlife. Pat expressed his love through shared experiences and adventures, especially with his son and those he loved. His lifelong passion for the outdoors began in Boy Scouts. He embraced every opportunity to explore nature. His many interests included fly fishing, skiing, whitewater kayaking, sailing, surfing, archery, hunting, all shooting sports with a particular passion for skeet and sporting clays, in fact it was often said guns were his love language! Whether in the mountains, on a river or ocean, or at a shooting range, Above all else Pat found joy sharing experiences with those he loved.
Pat was married to Judith Cook, with whom he shared 27 years and raised their family. He was later blessed to spend 27 loving years with his wife Elyse Kenney Schiller.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Elyse Kenney Schiller; his son Kevin Schiller, his daughters Jacque Frazier, Beth Briones, his grandchildren Emma Schiller, Addison Vetter, Jackson Frazier, Chase Frazier, Este Briones, and his beloved animals Marge, Cookie, Carmelita, and George.
