Patricia Yvette Pinkston was born September 8, 1961, in Richmond, Virginia, to Margaret Pearl Christian Pinkston and Harold Edward Pinkston. She passed February 19, 2026, in Los Angeles, California, being blessed to have lived nearly 64 and a half years.
The second of four children to her parents, Patricia was born into a loving home of deep Christian faith. She is survived by her father; her three siblings Christina René, Harold Edward Jr., and Timothy Mark; her five nieces Christiana Patrice (and husband, Isaiah), Shayla ‘Elise (and husband, D’Won), Ariana Melita (and husband, Manu), Cheyenne Grace, and Ayanna Christian; and her grandniece, Viviana Zariah.
For most of her childhood and young adult years, Patricia grew up in Delaware, Ohio, graduating from Rutherford B. Hayes High School, in 1979. She earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and Education at Ohio Wesleyan University, in 1983, and went on to earn her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counseling from Trinity Theological Seminary, in 1986, with her doctoral dissertation titled “Select Levels of Communication: Verbal and Non-verbal Mirrors of the Soul.” Patricia taught middle school at Tree of Life Christian School (private) and also taught at South High School (public), both in Columbus, Ohio, before moving to sunny southern California, circa 1987. Soon afterward, Patricia was recruited by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), in 1988, to teach at Virgil Middle School (public) where she was roundly beloved and adored by her sixth through eighth grade students and was highly respected by her fellow faculty colleagues, year after year, until her well-deserved retirement in 2017, after having contributed a rewarding thirty-year career in teaching secondary education there.
In addition to her admirable career as an accomplished school teacher, Patricia also was a singer, musician, dancer, model, actress, artist, designer, creator, and writer throughout much of her life—mostly as hobbies but, in some cases, for compensation. Growing up, she was a faithful member and lead soprano singer for her young adult and sanctuary church choirs, she played first-chair violin and flute for her high school and church orchestras, and she danced ballet and jazz at various local shows from her years of dedicated training at the Shirley Jennings Academy of Dance, in Delaware, Ohio. While a student in college and graduate school, she modeled and appeared in numerous print advertisements for many local apparel stores and was featured in various magazines in Columbus, Ohio. After moving to Los Angeles, she availed herself of some acting opportunities, appearing in featured films (“Renaissance Man,” “House Party II,” “Devil in a Blue Dress,” and “Harlem Nights”), popular television shows (“Martin,” “The Twilight Zone” (pilot), and “A Different World”), and in some commercials. She sketched portraits, drew pictures, painted masterpieces in acrylic and oil, designed and embroidered clothes, and created and refashioned figurines, including dolls of pop-culture icons. But what she seemed most passionate about in more recent years was her deep love of writing and expression of thought—mostly for the benefit and enjoyment of others. She did so more pervasively through her prominent Facebook presence, with nearly 2,000 followers.
Our dearly beloved Patricia was a very giving, generous soul—a wonderful human being. While it seems she left this world well before her time, for every one there is a divinely appointed time of which no one may ever know or see coming. We are blessed to have Patricia to continue to live in our hearts and minds until our own appointed time, when we hope to reunite with her and other passed loved ones that happy day! Until then, may she forever rest blissfully in peace in the bosom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
"A LOVE Letter 4 the Heartbroken"
I know it may seem difficult today, My Loves, but let the silence add reflection.
Know that if Love didn’t unfold naturally, it wasn't meant to be chased into being. Real Love doesn’t flee when U reach for it—it steps closer.
U weren't too much. U simply offered Ur Heart to someone who didn’t know how to hold it.
What may ache most is the way U imagined being chosen without hesitation.
Let Urself mourn the way It seemed Beautiful in how U saw it from a distance.
U were Brave enough to Love openly. That is not Weakness—it's Courage. Only the strongest Hearts dare to remain tender in a World that often rewards restraint.
So rise gently, Darling Hearts. Not hardened—honed.
AIN'T LOVE GRAND!! YES!! Especially when it meets U & says:
“There U R. I’ve been waiting just 4 U.”
Nothing was lost—only refined.
U R Magical & Wrapped in Tenderness with the Love U give Others!
KISSES
