Olivia Guerrero was a beautiful, intelligent, talented, and an incredibly patient individual. Although she was a private person, she connected with others from all over the globe. From a young age, Olivia tutored, volunteered, and loved to teach those around her with an infectious excitement only a person that is knowledgeable and passionate could produce.
She was devoted to educating herself and others about world issues, finding any opportunity to bring attention to civil rights, political rights, and collective human rights. She never shied away from pointing out injustice in the world, and vigorously refused to be ignorant in the face of global atrocities. She fiercely advocated for LGBTQ+, economic, and geopolitical equity with near expert-level knowledge.
She immersed herself in esoteric hobbies, always looking to expand her expertise. From gourmet cooking, to learning new musical instruments, to exploring niche spheres of pop culture, and many pursuits she kept close to her heart. Her passion for music and music history as a whole was awe-worthy, as was the catalog of literary works she enjoyed throughout her life. Beyond simply enjoying media of all forms, Olivia took the time and effort to become a contributing member of the communities surrounding her interests. As a teen, she often worked on creating online mods for her favorite games, and served as a leader and guide for tabletop game groups at her high school. In college, she pursued new personal and academic realms that her cautious childhood self would have once evaded - a testament to her strong will and identity.
Olivia attended Broadoaks School at Whittier College from preschool to 8th grade. She attended Loyola High School, graduating with honors. She was in the process of completing her 4th year at Harvey Mudd College, her dream school, and was on track to earn her B.S. in Computer Science, with a concentration in Chinese language. She cared vehemently for her dog, Luna.
Her death comes as a shock to us all, we hope anyone who had the privilege of knowing Olivia at any point in her life can find some consolation in sharing and remembering the wonderful person she was.
A funeral service for Olivia will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Our Lady Of Miraculous Medal, 820 N Garfield Ave, Montebello, California 90640-1607.
