It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael John Zaharis, who departed from this world on March 2, 2024. He was 75 years old. Michael was born on September 6, 1948 in Bell, CA to Harry and Harriet Zaharis.
Throughout his life, Michael was known for his love of cars, food, and gardening. He touched the lives of many with his kindness and good humor. Michael will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Louise Zaharis; daughter, Starla Brandenburg and her wife, Valerie King; daughter Nicolette Gonzalez, and her husband Roger Gonzalez; and man’s best friend, Rocky. He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Pete Zaharis; mother, Harriet Zaharis; and brother, Eugene Zaharis.
Though Michael may have left this world, his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
A visitation for Michael will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Rose Hills Mortuary, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 15, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Hillside Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.
Michael will be laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601; Prado De Los Arboles; Gate: 1, Section: 8, Lot: 3510, Grave: 4.
