Michael "Mitchell" Hernandez Duran was born on August 29, 1947 in Los Angeles, California to Felix and Jessie Duran. He attended Mark Keppel High School. On June 15th, 1970 he married the former Henrietta Perez in Montebello, California. Mitchell was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Varp inc. for 20 years before he retired in 2005. Varp is also where he found recovery and sobriety. Mitchell was very proud of his 30 years of sobriety.
Mitchell's hobbies included fishing, model ship making and trips to the casino.
Mitchell passed away on January 24th, 2020 at home in Colton, California surrounded by his family after battling liver disease and cancer for many years. Mitchell is survived by his wife of 49 years Henrietta, his children David, Micheal Jr., Valarie, Jennifer, and Robert Duran, his grandchildren Nicole Duran Jaquez and Brenda Vasquez, his great-grandchildren Lionel, Jacob, Mellody, and Scarlett as well as his brothers Mario and Christopher Duran. He was preceded in his death by his parents Felix and Jessie Duran and his brothers Felix Jr. and Richard Duran. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.
