Born on August 4, 1934, Martha lived a full and vibrant life centered on faith, family, friendship, and joy.
A longtime resident of La Mirada, California, Martha dedicated 30 years of her professional life to Harbor Insurance, where she worked as a respected claim supervisor from 1958 until her retirement in 1988. She was admired for her strong work ethic, leadership, and kindness to those around her.
Martha was deeply devoted to her faith and was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, where she found great purpose and community after the untimely passing of her oldest son Robert. Her faith also inspired one of the most meaningful journeys of her life – a pilgrimage to Israel, which she cherished dearly.
Known for her vivacious spirit and warm heart, Martha truly was the life of the party. She loved entertaining family and friends, traveling, laughing, and bringing people together. She especially enjoyed her trips to Laughlin, Nevada, where she delighted in gambling, good company, and creating lasting memories. Her friendly nature and joyful personality left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Martha shared 59 loving years of marriage with her devoted husband, Miguel Huezo, until his passing on November 16, 2018. Together they built a strong and loving family that remains her proudest legacy.
She is survived by her sons, Hector Huezo and his family – wife Elizabeth, and their children Robert, Alexander, and Erica – and Michael Huezo, his wife Nancy, and their daughter Caroline. Martha is also survived by her older sister, Maria Elena Valladares, and younger brother, Hector Alberto Montalvo.
Martha will be remembered for her boundless energy, generous spirit, deep faith, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She brought light, laughter, and warmth wherever she went, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
