This morning I open my phone & it shows this picture. A beautiful picture of my beautiful mother & sister. Such A great picture & memory! Our mother’s spirit is alive & she looks down from heaven blessing us all. We love you & miss you very much! Forever in our hearts❤️

We went together everywhere. You always prayed as we would go. You always checked if I had enough gas. When we sat & talked we laugh, we cried & you scolded me.

Mom, was A wife, A provider, A loving caring mother, A grandmother & A great grandmother. Here she’s with London. She loved him greatly as he loved her. I always remember when he came home to visit she would be filled with joy. She was proud of all his accomplishments. Thank You London for bringing joy & love to mom..❤️

Mom, many times we just hanged out you & me. The day would pass we talked, we always ate good, we always planned for another day. Missing you hurts! Tomorrow is your birthday, and you have been with dad almost 3 months now. I miss you so very much.  Everyday there is something that happens that reminds me of you. First I smile picturing your face, then I'm sad. Michael, Dahlia, Urijah and Chelsey all say they miss you so much. Love you with all my heart!

This was 11yrs ago today, i remember it like yesterday. We had so much fun when you would visit us.

I miss you so much. I cherish the times that we spent together doing our nails,  then treating ourselves to a nice lunch.  Thank you for all the moments like this, doing my nails will never be the same without you.

Luz was…
A wise sister in Christ.
A loving mother and wife.
A caring, affectionate grandma, great-grandma,  great-great-AND great-great-great grandmother. 
She was a dedicated bilingual teacher. 
A steadfast  and outspoken member of UTLA (United Teachers of Los Ángeles.)
A faithful and trustworthy friend. 
A compassionate, kind Christian. 
A committed woman of God. 
She was all these things and more. 

I’ve known Luz for over 30 years. We met at Eastman Elementary School in 1993. She always appreciated her coworkers, supported them, and brought a sense of hope into work. She set a high standard for herself and her students and sought to bring prayer into any occasion that needed the Lord’s intervention, like when she’d pray for a parent at conference time, or comfort a teacher or family at a time of loss. 

I’ve often thought of how much Luz loved her family and spent so much time with them. She was constantly  giving them love and nurturing them in faith. She lived  to see their faith grow.   And Luz would pray for them and anyone else at anytime. 

God’s word would pour out of her. 
She wasn’t ashamed of her faith. 
She knew how to stand her ground against evil and was a mighty prayer warrior.  

For years she held weekly Bible study at her home with Brother Manny and Pastor Calvin. 
Her home was blessed and you could feel the Holy Spirit’s presence when you were there. Her faith inspired us in our walk because she was meant to be an inspiration to others. 

Luz was my wise teacher and spiritual mentor, a Christian example of faith.  I will miss 
my dear friend, but we will see each other again. 
May the Lord bless and keep her family and friends.

Luz was a true Woman of God. She radiated with His countenance and always showed genuine love for people. She was graceful and soft spoken and epitomized a Proverbs Woman to me. Her prayers for others brought her unmeasurable blessings and her hospitality and warmth always welcomed me into her home. I always felt like family because she treated me as such. I love you and thank you and will miss you but I know you are dancing in Heaven with The Almighty you served so well! Rest in Peace my dear friend.
