In September 1984, she married Gene LaPointe and moved to the United States, where they eventually made their home in Whittier, California.
In 1988, Mina began her career as a hairdresser at Helen's Beauty Supply. Through her dedication and warm spirit, she became the store's manager and remained there until its closing in 2015. That same year, she fulfilled her dream of opening Mina's Beauty Supply, where she proudly served the Whittier community until 2022. She later joined JCPenney as a hairstylist, continuing to build lasting relationships with her clients until May 2026.
In her free time she loved to go on hikes, eat good food, and spend time with her grandson.
Mina is survived by her devoted husband Gene, daughter Kristi, son-in-law Brett, and her beloved grandson Ezra.
Mina will be remembered for her kindness, hard work, and the genuine care she showed everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, clients, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A funeral service will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Milk Rd., Whittier, California, 90601, US, on July 29, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Burial will take place at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Milk Rd., Whittier, in the Garden of Affection, Gate Number 1, Row 23, Lot 7002, Space 3, on July 29, 2026.
