The Dodson family moved to Colorado Springs around 1985.  we live down the street and Dave and Neal became great friends and I had a in-home daycare and I took care of him!  Gil retired from the army in Colorado Springs, and  they move to Littleton, Colorado. He started a recycle business so they offered us to buy their house because we were renting at the time and we still live in this house. My husband Mark passed away almost 9 years ago in April!  Neal and Dave kept in touch over the years they would visit each other in Littleton and when they move back to California, they would take turns coming to Colorado or California ! They are less than two weeks apart in age! In 1994, we  went on vacation to California to visit a relative in San Diego and then we drove up to LA and we visited Neal and Judy at their home. Jade  decided to go to college in Northern California at Humboldt State University. I realize that Judy had sent me a letter after Neal  graduated from high school that he was going to atend  college at  Humboldt State, so I contacted  Judy right away!  Neal was very supportive to Jade as she needed something he was there for her really helped her out when she was in College.  In 2003 Judy and us decided to go visit Jade and Neal! Jade and Judy  became really close friends over the years. Judy was like a second mom to Jade also in 2007 another visit . In Judy is a very beautiful special person inside and out! She had a lot of compassion for life and people that she cared  for treated them with respect and was a very giving to all!  We are so blessed to have her as a friend over the years along with the Dodson  family, our special memories of Judy that we shared with her will bring us comfort through all the days ahead! With our deepest sympathy to Wyatt and  Neal and her extended family with all the love you have of Judy wishing you all a peace of mind and spirit! We were celebrating Dana’s birthday at our old house.

When I was in High School, I was lucky enough to choose the same College as Judy’s youngest son Neal. I didn't know the family very well. Unlike my brother who was best friends with Neal, when they were younger. My family lived on the same street as them and we bought their home and still live in it to this day in Colorado Springs. My brother David would go visit them in California and Neal would come back to Colorado during summer breaks. When I moved to California, Neal became another brother to me and Judy became my second Mom and still is to this day. We would call each other on all the important Holidays and Birthdays. We always had a tradition of giving each other presents for our Birthdays and Christmases. The theme of our gifts revolved around our love for our cats. My favorite memories of Judy are when she came to my College graduation and every time I visited her at her home in Rancho Palos Verdes. Judy knew how to have fun and was always happy to be around. My first job after College was working for Norwegian Cruise Line. I would spend time with her and her Husband, every time I was in L.A. port. She had asked me to get her some special tequila that goes on ice cream. She knew that my ship was doing a Mexico route, and that I would be around Tequila farms. I went above and beyond to smuggle it through shampoo bottles for her. Because I wasn't allowed to have hard alcohol because I was crew. I was able to get off the ship with the tequila. I got permission to leave the ship early to meet her to spend the day with her. I came back 5 hours later and found out that the rest of the crew were not allowed off. So, everybody was really upset and jealous of me. I would have done anything for her, including smuggling tequila.  I think about her every day! I miss her warm kind soul and how loyal and independent she was. I can still hear her laugh and see her smile, when I close my eyes, it was so adorable. Judys role in my heart is irreplaceable! We will miss Aunt Judy every day. She is a beautiful lady inside and out. She is very thoughtful, kind, caring and an amazing person. Richie and I have alot of fun memories with her from all the Country concerts we went to, the wineries and the relaxing weekends staying at her house binge watching shows on Netflix shows. We love you.
