Jose “Joe” Francisco Herrera Jr. had been living in Indio for the past few years after spending much of his life in Los Angeles, California. Joe worked for many years with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Outside of work, he enjoyed motorcycles, vehicles, and racing, and had a lasting interest in automotive culture and motorsports. He is survived by his eldest and only son, Makaio; his youngest and only daughter, Priscilla; his grandson, Liam; and three of his four siblings, Richard, Chris, and Vicky. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Sr., his mother, Mary, his brother, Vincent, and his uncle, Chris. Joe was known among friends and family for his passion for vehicles and the lifestyle surrounding them. His memory remains with those who knew and loved him.
