John was one of my long distance cousins, I always remember your love for music, clocks and G.I Joe and how you always talked about it with passion. I will always treasure the few moments we saw each other.

John was for me, the most gifted nephew, my little lamb of love. 
When he was little I used to tell him tales or stories, at the same time I drew for him the characters, which he liked very much, especially when they were related to clocks and watches that were his favorite drawings.

During my vacations and every other year I would visit the family and John was always willing to go for a walk with me, or talk about the new watches that were in Chile. He was tidy and kept his watch collection impeccable. He also made me listen to his saxophone with beautiful melodies. He called me “Aunt Cina”, with affection.

I have no doubt that he is now in heaven with his father, aunt and grandparents who loved him so much.

Iris Sotomayor Rogge (Tia Pinita)

John N. Lee IV, was born on March 31st, 1967, at the Santa Maria Clinic in the City of Santiago, Chile, his parents John N. Lee III and Alicia Sotomayor were married in 1966 on March 31st, and I, his uncle Alberto, celebrate my birthday also on March 31st.
When John was born, he was a wonderful gift from heaven, he brought the light and joy of being the first son, grandson and nephew to come into the family. As he grew older, he developed a keen sense of observation, he loved cats and watching birds.  He would watch the television and especially an Eagle Clothes commercial, where they displayed a watch that caught his attention. John developed a very special bond with his grandparents, Tata and Brunny. In July 1969 the Lee-Sotomayor family emigrated to the United States, as his father was to take up duties at JPL, Pasadena.
Over the years John became a fine collector of clocks and watches, of all types and brands, he also developed another passion, music, he became a skilled saxophonist at the School Band.
John never harmed anyone.
At this sad moment, when you must begin your journey towards the Eternal Light, I ask the good Lord to send a group of angels to guide you and escort you to the meeting with the Almighty. Once you cross the threshold, you will be greeted by all those who have already departed and who loved you in life. When the good God resurrects you on the last day, we shall meet again. So it is written.

Alberto Sotomayor Rogge, your uncle from Chile

John was my oldest cousin that always greeted me with a handshake.  I admired his passion for clocks and his knowledge on the upkeep of them.  He never had a bad thing to say about anybody.  I really enjoyed his visits to our Nana’s House in San Diego multiple times a year or when we drove up to La Cañada to visit him and his family.  He will be truly missed by all.  John, this is not good bye, but see you later.  I love you.  Rest in eternal peace with The Lord, Amen.

John was my first nephew.  He gave me my nickname of “Tia Talito” when he was a little boy which has remained with me for over 55 years.  I remember his first clock which was a wind-up Fischer Price clock.  This clock started his lifelong love of clocks.  I know John will be monitoring all clocks in Heaven. ⏰🕰️🕚⏱️
