My first memory of my Uncle John, was when we visited LA in the mid 80's.  I remember him driving a red 2 door sports car and it was stick shift, which was very impressive in my young eyes.  He didn't have room in his car and I really wanted to ride with him to watch how he moved into every gear but he didn't have space.  I cried and cried until he said it was ok for me to sit in the middle.  Ever since then I always wanted to learn and drive manual.  I wanted to be as cool as him.  Today, I own a manual car and on many of my drives I think of that day.  Him and his brother, Uncle James were Lover 1 & Lover 2, I thought maybe I could be Lover 3 :).  

To my Uncle John, you are loved and you will be missed.  May you rest in peace.  Until next time...

Thank you for being the best brother that I could have ever dreamed of.  You made me a better person in life.  Thank you for your always wise counsel.  You were always there for me despite your own challenging situation.  You were my best friend, traveling partner.  Our road trip experience will be with me until we meet again in heaven.  Even on your last and most difficult day, you reminded me that you will watch over me from heaven – I just wish you could do that here, my dearest brother.  You will forever be loved, remembered, and missed beyond any measure!

It was Thanksgiving 2016. Cousin John and Natalia drove up from LA to spend it with our family. It was such a fun and wonderful time together after not seeing each other for years. We miss you and will see you again in heaven, cousin John.
