Joel C. Villasenor was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. At seventeen, Joel started his career as an interpreter and undercover operative with relatives in the Policia Judicial Federal in Tijuana, Mexico. Upon legally immigrating to the United States from Mexico and graduating from Saint Augustine High School, he joined the Air Force and was assigned as a forward air controller, and volunteered for two tours of duty in Viet Nam, Quang Tri and Hue Phu Bai, where he earned a Purple Heart. Upon his honorable discharge, Joel continued his education earning a degree in Administration of Justice and was hired as a State of California Peace Officer by the City of Huntington Park and then transferred to the City of Santa Ana.
Upon retirement from the public sector, Joel was recruited as the Corporate Manager of Investigations by McDonnel Douglas Corporation and had national and international responsibility for all security, asset protection, risk management, sensitive investigations and executive protection. Further, Joel received his California State lifetime teaching credential and developed the instructional objectives for an investigative curriculum, which he taught in the private sector for the Educational Designs Institute, and his curriculum has earned California State Title 8 approval for adult instruction.
Joel was a licensed private investigator in California, Arizona, Colorado and Mexico, holds certification through ASIS as a Certified Protection Professional. Joel established, Confidential Business Consultants, a California Corp. He was a Polygraph Examiner, a Bilingual Confrontational Interviewer, trained in Martial Arts and held dual citizenship with the United States and Mexico. Joel provided discreet investigative services to numerous Fortune 500 companies and with his experienced bilingual attributes attained desired results for his clients, both nationally and internationally.
Joel was well known for his sense of humor, pranks and full body laughs. He was a cherished Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, Nino, Friend and cornerstone of the family.
Joel passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 28th, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family.
