Grandpa, you were the best Grandpa to me and my brothers and sisters, but when it came to being a great Grandpa, that was unmatched. The way you loved my boys and lit up with the biggest smile everytime you saw them would make my heart melt. I'm so honored and blessed that hey got to experience your love and most of all, you. Not many kids get to no or ever meet they're great-grandparents. My boys were lucky enough to have and live their whole childhood with you. I hope as they grow up they make you proud and you continue to watch over them as they become men and guide them in this world in ways that I cannot. We love you and we miss you.

I grew up on Pineville Street alongside the Ramirez family. Their son Bobby and I were inseparable, reminiscent of the bonds in the movie "The Sandlot." Not a week passed without us playing baseball in Bobby's front yard or engaging in other wild kid adventures around the block. Helen and Joe were incredibly welcoming whenever I visited their home (which was quite often). Helen would always check if I was hungry, and my answer was invariably yes, eager for her delicious rice! Joe would clasp my shoulder firmly, never letting me leave without inquiring about my mother and stepfather. They exemplified grace and deep affection for each other and their family, setting a perfect model of what love in marriage should look like. As I approach my 60th birthday, I can affirm that Helen and Joe were one of the purest examples of marital bliss, a model any couple would be fortunate to follow. Even after moving away from Pineville, each visit home confirmed their undiminished love. I am saddened to learn of Helen and Joe's passing so close together. Yet, I can think of no better way for them to ascend to meet our Heavenly Father than together, just as they lived on earth.  I warmly convey all my love and condolences to the family.
