Dec. 22, 1938 - Jan. 15, 2021 We're saddened to tell you that the remarkable Jackawa L. Jackson has passed away. He was Vice President and Community Development Manager, Compliance and Community Relations Administrator for Sanwa Bank for 27 years. He devoted himself to community involvement in the cities of La Mirada, Cerritos, and Los Angeles. He held the position of President in Los Angeles Urban Bankers, La Mirada Rotary Club, and International Training in Communications Club. He was born in the small town of Pledger, Texas, graduated from Texas Southern University with a BS degree in Architectural Drafting and received an MBA from Peter Drucker School of Management in Claremont, California. He relocated to Southern California with his family in 1968 and began his career in banking. Over the years he was an avid traveler, loved adventure and experiencing other cultures with his loving wife Faye Jackson of 62 years. He was a faithful member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Whittier, California where he sang in the choir, served as a lay reader, chalice barrier, and served on the vestry. He is survived by his wife, three sons; Jeffery, Chris (Leslie), and Jack (Anita), 12 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. His only surviving sibling is Cedalia Colbert residing in Lancaster,Texas. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was a devoted father and husband, great provider, good listener and problem solver. He was the life of the party, known for entertaining others and loved playing games with family and friends.
