He was born in 1935 to Hector Flores and Trinidad (Fernandez) Flores and raised in the Bonita Gardens section of Houston, TX.
He learned the upholstery trade at a young age and worked in manufacturing for many years.
In 1977, he opened "Hector's Custom Upholstery" at the corner of Knott Ave. and Orangethorpe Blvd. in Buena Park, CA. He retired in 2011.
He is survived by his dear stepmother, Eva Flores of Houston, TX, sister Velia (Oscar) Garcia of Fullerton, CA, brother John (Imelda) Flores of Houston, sister Virginia Hickey of Houston, sister Carolyn (Joe) Ramirez of Houston, and brother Ruben Flores of Houston. He is also survived by son Hector (Doreen) Flores, 3rd, of McKinney, TX, son Joe Michael (Cathy) Flores of Stanton, CA, daughter Marcella (Craig) Davis of Spokane, WA, daughter Kristina Kapus, of Marysville, WA, son Eddie Flores of Buena Park, CA, son Luis Robert (Laura) Flores of La Mirada, CA, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be held Monday, March 20, 2023 from 9 am - 12pm at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA 90601.
