We are sad to announce the passing of Gerald H. Lunsford, age 78, in his home surrounded by loved ones, after a short illness. He was loved by all who knew him. “Jerry” was born on June 19, 1947 at Long Beach Memorial Hospital and grew up in Monterey Park. He graduated from Montebello High School in 1965. Jerry was honored to serve our country in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1971.
Jerry lived in Whittier for over 50 year and he was a proud member of the Daniels Tires team working at the Santa Fe Springs office for over 20 years.
He was an avid golfer for decades and enjoyed the sport but equally enjoyed the comradeship with his wonderful friends he golfed with at the Candlewood Country Club golf course.
Jerry is survived by his son Brock H. Lunsford, wife Laura and three grandchildren. His daughter Paige G. Lunsford, partner Jose Alvarez, and their two sons. Nephew Glenn Sabey, nephew Bobby Sabey, wife Dede and their two sons.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father Ross Harvey Lunsford Jr, mother Theresa Arlene Lunsford nee Watson, and sister Patricia Sabey.
A graveside service will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park, located at 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California, 90601, United States. The service is scheduled for February 26, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Mr. Lunsford will be laid to rest in the Garden of Affection, Row 16, Lot 1880, Space 2, Gate Number 1, at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
