Our deepest condolences to the Garcia family from the Kolisar family. I recently learned from my old grammar and high school classmate George that his brother Frank had recently passed. George and I recently reconnected  at a grammar school reunion after not seeing each other in more than 55 years! It has been that long since I last met with Frank, but I’ll always remember that smile and easy going personality.  Frank was 2 years older than me and we attended different high schools. He went to Cathedral high school with my older brother Eddie, while I attended Bosco Tech with George. The most time I spent with Frank was through our love of basketball, playing in pickup and adult leagues in neighborhood gyms around Alhambra and El Sereno with George and my younger brother Danny. Frank had that sweet, left handed set shot from the outside that normally went in. He had that calming influence on the court. Looking back all these years later, those were some fun times. Rest in peace my friend.

Words cannot describe the heartbreak I felt when hearing of your passing. That morning you left, I woke up from a dream where we were laughing and talking like old times. The room was full of light and you were joyful. I took it as a sign that I would see you again. To my great dismay, you had just passed. Thank you for visiting me one last time. For the past weeks, I have had an open wound in my heart. A pain that has no remedy. My greatest wish has been peace, for my Dad, our family, and all of his loved ones. I know he is in heaven, and his soul is wiped clean. Thank you to all who shared his life, love, and laughter. He will be missed by all. My deepest appreciation to all who loved and cared for my dad, extending your compassion until the last moments.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Frank.  I truly admired Frank as a  fellow coworker.  He was highly respected and liked.  He will be truly missed.  I never did get a chance enjoy lunch together at a  taco joint he recommended in Beaumont. I will think of him every time I eat there.  God bless you and your family.  And god bless Frank. Frank for many many years would play basketball every Sunday.  Nicknamed twister, during his high school days, due to  Frank’s  uncanny ability to make shots around the basket.  After several hours of running up and down  the court  we would all sit at chat about sports  , current events and life in general .  Frank was reserved, smart, knowledgeable,  caring, helpful  and much like he played basketball , very unselfish.. Frank was genuinely a good guy  who was well liked and respected because of the dignified way he  conducted himself.  RIP.

My sincere heartfelt condolences to his sibling family and his daughters! Frank has been my best friend for 52 years, since meeting him at LMU.  I found out while in Morocco on an incredible tour. My heart and mind are broken to the core of my soul. So many memories that I am left with. My only regret is not having connected with him before my trip. I will have to deal with this failure. Dear Kathleen, I know your brother is enjoying Our Lord, menudo and the Dodgers in heaven.  May he rest in peace for all eternity.  It is so very hard to lose a brother, but always pull on the fun times, the wonderful memories and laughs, and the jokes he may have told you more than once.  He is smiling with Our Lord.

Whenever I needed to change my rotation days, you always said with a smile, “Yes, Jackie, I can do that.” That simple kindness showed your generous heart and your willingness to help others without hesitation.

I realized we never took a photo together, but your warm smile is forever in my memory. You brought light and laughter wherever you went, and I’ll always cherish the moments we shared as coworkers and friends.

Frank Garcia is a wonderful and most kindness person in this world .  I’m very grateful that we have the friendship for many years & been part of his life.  I met him when he was working at GMAC Mortgage and I do his escrow for many years. He is like my “big brother & very good friend”.   We keep in touch all these years even he not doing real estate anymore. We meet up for lunch or dinner sometimes. When I need someone to talk to and need advice, Frank always find time to listen to me. When I go thru some hard times, he also there to listen. I will always missed you  Frank J. Garcia.

Back to 1960 All Saints grammar school El Sereno met in first grade and traveled together through  Cathedral HS 1973 grads . Frank was a very warm , soft spoken and kind person . Never a bad word or negative remark made . Last  spoke with him at a Cathedral HS reunion couple years  back . We nicknamed himTWISTER because of a fancy lay up maneuver move he had on the basketball court . We will miss you TWISTER but never forget you !🏀🏀

I am blessed to have known Frank Garcia as my colleague, good friend, and lunch buddies. Frank was a kind, calm, and a positive person. In the last few years, we have both introduced each other to our favorite restaurants, dined out together, and enjoyed wonderful conversations. 

Our last dining adventures was October 5, 2025. I was shocked and saddened by the news of his passing about 1 week later which is surreal. I am glad that no matter how busy our schedules were, we took some time to dine out together to create joys from the foods we ate and conversations we have had which provides me with memories of Frank in my heart and mind to live on within me.

Frank had taught me to slow down and take a little time to spend time with the people who cares and support us. We often time never know when our  journey ends and a new one begins. I will miss you Frank, my dear friend. Thank you for your friendship.

To the Garcia Family,
Frank and I attended Loyola Marymount University together.  Frank was a senior as I entered as a freshman in 1975. He looked out for me that first semester.  Often arranging a ride home for me to El Sereno.  Frank's sister, Kathleen and his brother, George, were my classmates at All Saints Elementary School in El Sereno.  Kathleen and I attended Sacred Heart High School together and recently reunited at our high school "Golden Diploma" luncheon in April.  The Garcia family lived on Cyril Avenue during the 60's, 70's and 80's when the Fuentes family lived on the same street (my tio Tony, aunt Bea, and tia Aurora, and their families).  We shared a common upbringing in our Catholic faith and Mexican American heritage.  Frank was a gentleman, a kind soul who believed deeply in community.  I will always be grateful for his friendship and kindness.  Rest in peace my friend.

Frank was always a person I could call “friend”,  starting with my earliest days years ago as an FSC at Rose Hills.  He always treated me with care and  respect.  I was recently away for 2 years for medical leave, and Frank welcomed me back warmly and was again right there to help me navigate through a lot of the new computer challenges I had at the time.  I always loved to sit at a station next to him when I returned back to work so I could ask for  his help if needed, and he always would kindly oblige.  I enjoyed working with him on the first Sunday I had to service the Vans.  He was showing me what to do and I was loving the task so much!   Frank thought it was very amusing that I wanted to do far more with the vehicles than what we needed to do, but together we finished the job. Learning of his passing came as quite a painful shock to me, but I know he has his Angel wings!  Thank you, Frank, for making  my days more pleasant whenever we worked together!
To his dear family and friends, and to his Rose Hills FSC colleagues,  I extend my sincerest condolences and prayers.  May special memories help to ease the pain we all feel, and may he rest in eternal Heavenly peace. He will be missed. ✝️💟🙏🏽

Frank was my co worker.  He was such a kind man, always willing to assist anyone without asking for anything in return.  He is always respectful and polite.  I really enjoyed working with Frank for almost 8 years..
