Ethel was such a special person. She always made the time to say hello and speak to me. We had many conversations, she would always listen to me and always gave me great advice. We had many laughs and even some tears. Ethel was such a caring, loving and happy  person I am going to miss her and her hugs tremendously. She will always hold a special place in my heart.
Rest in Peace my dear friend.

My Apple pie, my sister, my friend, and confidant.  Your presence is truly missed, but the love you gave remains. You played a huge part in so many lives and have left tons of knowledge and memories to cherish and take with us each day.  I am so grateful that I was blessed to be one  of the lives you touched. Thank you! Rest well my sister. 

I will always remember Ethel Johnson as the sweetest, most caring and loving lady in LACOE. She always had the best attitude and disposition no matter what she was dealing with in her life. She always gave the warmest hugs. I always said you have never had a real hug until you receive a hug from Ethel. Her memory was the best, you only had to tell her your name once and from then on she would greet you by name always taking time and care to make you feel special. We will miss her and remember her for her bubbly personality, warm smile and hugs. Rest well Ethel there is no pain where you are now. Kelcie, please note that I am always here whenever you need me for anything. 

Ethel was my hero. Her enthusiasm for the well-being and success of all young people was exemplary. She was the model of grace and compassion. Whenever Ethel called me to participate in Black History month activities, I was ready. I could never say no to such a powerful Black woman. Her legacy will live on not only through her own children, but through all who knew her. My students are enriched because I knew Ethel. And, in turn they will go on to affect those in their lives. Ethel lives on.
