Deborah Lee Tomasso passed away on January 10, 2026, in Upland, California, at the age of 70. She was born on December 20, 1955, in Providence, Rhode Island, and lived a life centered on family, hard work, and caring for others.
Deborah wore many hats throughout her life. She worked as a cosmetologist, served her community as a City of Duarte employee, and later dedicated herself to supporting children and families as a paraeducator with LACO Education. No matter the role, she showed up with patience, reliability, and a genuine desire to help.
Her greatest pride and joy was her family. Deborah was a loving mother to her son, James Tomasso, and her daughter, Diana Zumaya, and a deeply devoted grandmother to nine grandchildren. She loved being involved in their lives, celebrating milestones, sharing everyday moments, and offering steady encouragement and support.
She is survived by her son James Tomasso, daughter-in-law Teresa Tomasso, and grandsons Aaron Tomasso and Shaun Tomasso, and by her daughter Diana Zumaya, son-in-law Braulio Zumaya, and grandchildren Liliana Zumaya, Alycia Zumaya, Emma Zumaya, Uriah Zumaya, Jonathan Zumaya, Abby Zumaya, and Hezekiah Zumaya.
Deborah will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, her sense of humor, and the way she made those around her feel cared for and welcome. She believed in showing love through actions, and that love continues through her children and grandchildren.
A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuaries on January 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
