Sending you our most sincere condolences on the lost of your dear loved one. On the outside of the Velasquez family my contact with my Uncle David was through text and/or calls. Though brief, I felt I was communicating with my own dad. We laugh, we discuss and we prayed toward the end our conversation. Uncle David brought a comfort in me just like my dad. I got use to it, let my guard down, thinking this will last forever. Now, the rug has been pulled from under me. My dad is gone, and now my Uncle David. I beg your forgiveness for not being present. Unfortunately, in the past seven months I've had two major abdomidable surgeries. I'm under strict movement and diet. Lost forty pounds from toxicity and took very horrible tasting meds. I'm steady at 163 from 201. My intestines were obstructed. I don't know how it got that way. The surgeon too was baffled. The intestines were crossed and nothing was getting by. The second time was worse. Recovery is months long. I did not informed Uncle David because he would worry and I know he had his own issues to deal with and to take care of tia Canda. He had his hands full. Therefore, I briefly informed my cousin David of my situation.  Just like my dad's passing, there were some big shoes to fill. Somewhere along the line, Uncle David's presence, even from afar, seemed to filled them indirectly and from afar.  I did not know of his ailments, he did not complaint of any.  I notice that our conversations were getting shorter, but that's to be understood because of his duties at home. I did not know that our Lord Jesus Christ was preparing him for his journey home.
Uncle David, I'm going to miss you. Thank you for your time with me. Our laughs, discussions and our basic german talks. Rest in peace my uncle. I love you. Your nephew Ray.
