Darren De Shan Bryant was born to Clayton and Wilma Bryant on February 18, 1965, in Los Angeles, CA. Darren grew up in Carson, CA where he attended Del Amo Elementary School, Carnegie Junior High School and Banning High School. As a child, Darren was a member of Miracle Temple of GOD in Los Angeles, CA where he served as an active member on the junior ushers’ board. Although Darren dedicated his life to Christ early in life, he would later recommit his life to Christ and get baptized. As a young child, Darren was a child of love. He absolutely adored his mother. He was an extremely protective brother who didn’t mess around when it came to his siblings, especially his sisters. He loved to love!
In 1997, Darren met his beautiful wife, Michelle. In 1999, Darren and Michelle moved to Cerritos, CA where they resided for over 25 years. Together, Darren and Michelle shared their love and raised a blended family. Over the span of two decades, Darren and Michelle shared so many memories together; business ventures (jumper business, beauty salon, real estate investments just to name a few), spontaneous one-night trips, story times, and the birth of their two children. Story times normally consisted of Darren telling the stories and Michelle listening. Michelle laughed at his jokes even when they weren’t funny. No matter what, Michelle supported him through everything and loved him wholeheartedly.
Darren loved his children. He was so proud of them and loved every bit of being a father. He never missed an opportunity to brag about his children to anyone that was nearby. The passion and excitement that he had when speaking about his children displayed just how proud he was.
Darren was a hard worker. He worked multiple shifts and countless hours at the docks. His goal was to receive his A book status as a Longshoreman. On November 2, 2023, in front of his peers and family, he completed the task and was sworn in as an A book Longshoreman.
Darren leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Michelle Bryant; father and mother: Clayton and Wilma Bryant; siblings: Montel (Allison) Bryant, Archie (Tami) Ray, Cinniamon (Jerome) Jackson, Kharishma (Lee) Hill; children: Doctor Cheyenne Bryant, Jeramy (KeShauna) Bryant, Cinnamon Bryant, Ginger Bryant, Dominica Bryant, Mauriana Bryant; sons in love: D’Angelo Sanford, Tito Garcia; grandchildren: Jayana Bryant, Kennedy Bryant, Jeremiah Bryant, Khloe Bryant, Joseph Bryant, Trinity Jones; nieces: Tanesha (Marco) Buckley, Porsha Ray (Kashiff) Rashid, Joi Bryant, Grace Bryant, Angel Jackson, Heaven Jackson, Kaylee Hill; nephews: Noah Jackson, Elijah Jackson, Jasiah Hill and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
