On Monday, April 24th, 2021 at 7:10 pm, Darrell Head lost his battle with Cancer at the age of 85. Born September 12, 1935 this man had gone through so much. Losing his parents at 3 years old, going thru foster care, being adopted , being split up from his siblings, joining the Army at 16, serving his country almost 8 years, hitch hiking from Michigan to California with only a couple dollars in his pocket, being homeless, then having his life turned around, getting a job , playing pool for food from the owner of Tommy's Burgers In L.A., eating corn dogs and burgers for a year, buying his dream car (Impala)meeting his wife and falling in love with her, having their daughter, followed by a son 3 years later, buying a home, reuniting with his brother and sister after 35 years, and meeting all his nieces and nephews, becoming an amazing grandfather to his only grandson, traveling cross country, retiring at 55, and being married to his amazing wife for 53 years! I am proud to say that's my Dad and I will always be proud of who you were and the man you are!
He is survived by his wife (Margarita), Daughter (Darlene) son (David), grandson (Christopher) nieces, nephews, nieces and lots of friends. This man was a true legend! RIP Pops!
