Courtney attended Arlington Heights Elementary School until the fourth grade where he initially learned to play the violin. From fifth grade onwards he studied at Glendale Adventist Academy where he was active in the Glendale Adventist Academy Band playing the tenor saxophone. Upon graduating from the Academy in 1982, Courtney then matriculated into Loma Linda University. Courtney also studied for an academic school year at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama during his undergraduate studies. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting in 1987. Upon graduating Courtney then matriculated into the School of Dentistry at Loma Linda University where he graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1991.
Courtney established a private dental practice in Upland, California where he practiced dentistry for several years. He also taught dentistry as an associate professor of dentistry at Loma Linda University for several years.
During those years Courtney was an avid photographer who especially was interested in photographing automobile racing-related subjects as he reveled in Formula One, Indy Car, and NASCAR automobile racing which led Courtney to take race car driving lessons and attend various automobile races where he would photograph the race cars. He also was able to interview many race car drivers and pit crew members in the paddocks for the racing themed radio show that he hosted for a few years.
As Courtney grew spiritually in the admonition of the Lord, he became active in health-related ministries. He studied about natural health remedies relating to the herbs, minerals, and vitamins in the foods that we eat for natural healing. He also enthusiastically grew herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Consequently, he became involved in medical mission trips to countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Romania where he provided dental care and taught about health reform, and natural healing.
As an outgrowth of Courtney’s love for the Lord, he taught Sabbath School, and gave talks on health reform, natural healing, and Bible prophecies, and gave online Bible studies which covered the aforementioned subjects. He also authored a book entitled, God's Guarantee – The Divine Plan for Victorious Christian Living.
Courtney is survived by his mother Barbara Ruth Jackson, and his brother Charles Jackson, Jr., and his sister Delilah Jackson-Johnson, and a bevy of friends and relatives.
The outpouring of love for the Lord, from the servant of the Lord, Dr. Courtney Jackson, D.D.S., proved to be a blessing to so many.
A funeral service for Courtney will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Los Angeles at University Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1135 W Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90037-1809. A graveside service will occur Friday, April 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.
Courtney will be laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601; Meadowbrook 2; Gate: 1, Section: 1, Lot: 21204, Grave: 2.
