Colleen Joy Verhoef was born on August 27, 1955, and she passed away on October 20, 2024. Her life was full of love, creativity, and happiness. She grew up in Southern California and graduated from Arroyo High School in 1973. Colleen had a passion for dance and modeling, which led her into the entertainment world. She appeared in several shows, including Big Valley, Touched by an Angel, My Three Sons, Branded, Little House on the Prairie, and The Brady Bunch. Additionally, she served as a casting assistant for Screen Children’s Agency.
Creativity played a significant role in Colleen's life. She expressed herself through macrame, photography, flower arranging, and painting murals for office buildings, infusing everything she created with warmth and love.
Colleen held her roles as a Mother and Grandmother closest to her heart. Her children, Dustin, Brandan, and Kristen, whom she referred to as her “three greatest Joys,” were her world. The addition of her grandchildren, Maddie and Caden, brought even more love into her life. She was also a cherished “Auntie” to her nieces and nephew.
Colleen found joy in life's simple pleasures such as animals, nature, and had a special love for hummingbirds, symbolizing joy and freedom. She enjoyed playing slot machines, Bingo with her mother, Nina, and cherished their daily coffee dates filled with laughter and love.
Colleen was the heart of her family. Let us honor her memory by carrying forth her light, laughter, and kindness. She was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed.
