On Sunday, July 12, 2020, Chau Yen passed away at the age of 89 following a brief illness. He was a devoted husband, and loving father and adoring grandfather.
Chau was born on October 4, 1930 in Taipei, Taiwan. He was the fourth of nine children.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Chu; his three children Frances, Lisa (Tom) and Tom; his two grandchildren Tommy and Kathryn; his siblings John (Janice) and Mori; various nieces and nephews.
Chau was an avid traveler; he traveled the world during his life including Japan, Vietnam, Turkey, Canada, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, more recently Spain and Portugal. When he was not traveling, he could be found at home in California. He enjoyed the simple home life, always reading about current events and history and spending time with his immediate and extended family.
