Charlotte was a blessing to many at the Corps of Engineers.  Her kindness will truly be missed.  Rest in Peace our friend. 

I was so sorry to hear of Charlotte’s passing.  

Charlotte was a team player and was always willing to help in any way she could, even if the project was outside of her area of responsibility/expertise. She was a skilled negotiator and proven professional.  Her expertise positively influenced several military programs and projects, in particular the U.S. Armed Forces Recruiting Facilities Program.  The important work she performed was in direct support of our war fighters’ and their ability to sustain operations.

Charlotte had a great attitude and was a pleasure to work with.  Her beautiful soul will never be forgotten.

Charlotte will always hold a special place in my heart by being one of the most generous, kind and loving women that I have ever known.  I had the opportunity to live with Charlotte, Granny and Lisa in that little apartment on Cameron many years ago and those memories are golden. Through Charlotte, I met my best friend in the whole world, Lisa. I never would have had the chance to get to know my “other” family if Charlotte hadn’t been so accepting of all of us. 

When I think about her, lots of memories come to mind. Candy, she always had candy! She loved See’s candy and made Eagle Brand Bars for the holidays and never forgot to bring chocolate covered macadamia nuts back from Hawaii as a souvenir. Speaking of Hawaii, I’ll never forget our trip to Hawaii and her love of Hawaii. I’ll always remember her letting Lisa and I go to the Academy Awards when it was held at Dorothy Chandler Pavillon. Our endless trips to Chuck E. Cheese and to see the Annie movie. Watching Grease with her and Lisa and I pretending we were Pink Ladies. I was thrilled to be able to come along on those adventures and she was always there with a smile and a hug. 

Estée Lauder perfume was her signature scent and it will always remind me of her. Same thing with boots, stylish jackets and gardenias. Charlotte had her own sense of style and was always well put together. What a lovely woman and breath of fresh air she was!

I’ll wrap this up by mentioning her faith, which was really quite remarkable. She always believed in God and was very faithful to him by being the best person she could be and treating all people with kindness. I thank her for being one of my “second Moms”. It meant so much to a teenage girl who was from a broken home.  I am truly blessed to have known her and I know that we will meet again someday. 

We have lost one of the world brightest lights left on earth. Always doimg what she care for other people including me. She made me into the man i am today. I will always remember the years Hawaii running after her car when she left for work or hiding in the car so she would take me with her to work. Sleeping under her desk and walking to china town to eat lunch. After all the places we have been together and things we have done watching movies and eating chocolate were the highlights of our nights. Thank you for loving the church and paving the way for your kids. We have big shoes to fill.

Sweet Charlotte was one of the best people I ever met in my life. She was always so giving and loving and caring. She took us kids into her arms like she was our mom. I will never forget her and her kindness ever. While I will not be able to be there for her service, I know she Is looking down after all of us.
