She was born to parents Michael Joseph Tickenoff and Vera Minai Volkoff, on August 7th, 1949 in Los Angeles, California.
Growing up in Whittier, California she and her sisters would karate-chop her dad’s cigarette smoke in the living room while her parents watched “The Honeymooners.”
Carol graduated from Monte Vista High School in 1967 where she and her twin sister dominated Powderpuff Football. They were fast.
Carol enjoyed Cooking, Card Games, Reading, Bible Studies, Golf, Racquetball, Old Movies, and the TV show, “I Love Lucy.” When hitting a golf ball, she didn’t have much distance but it was always right down the middle.
At 18 years old, Carol married Jim Kobzeff. After having 3 boys and working through 19 years of marriage, they divorced.
Throughout her life, Carol maintained a strong faith in the Bible and Jesus Christ. She was philanthropic at heart and mentored unwed mothers while living in Oregon.
Carol married Phil Harper on September 4th, 1987. They shared a love of fine dining and travel. Hawaii will miss hosting “The Harpers.”
She worked as an Executive Assistant at several companies throughout her career. She was known for getting the job done. One of her many jobs was to hand out the season tickets to employees. Everyone in her circle eventually enjoyed leftover tickets.
Carol absolutely loved watching her grandkids grow. They called her “Boonya.”
Carol is survived by James Kobzeff, Son, Matthew Kobzeff, Son, Michael Kobzeff, Son, Heather Harper, Daughter, Kathleen Vierck, Sister, & Maryann Tickenoff, Sister.
Kathy and Carol are identical twins and for the first time in 73 years, they are no longer together.
Carol was preceded in death by Nina Goudy, Sister, & Michael Tickenoff, Brother.
Carol Harper's Celebration of Life is scheduled for Wednesday, June 21st at 9:00am in the SkyRose Chapel at Rose Hills Memorial Park. A reception will follow from 1:00pm-4:00pm at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, California.
Robert Belikoff will officiate the ceremony.
