Grandpa,

     I gave a presentation today on AB1705 a bill that denies students choice in taking a pre-transfer level Mathematics and English courses at Community Colleges. 

     I dedicated my presentation to you and your hard work in educating Mexican Americans. Unfortunately, things haven’t changed and are only getting worse. Systemic racism in education has reared its ugly head and we are now in a fight for our lives. For our people. 

     Thank you for preparing me for this fight and todays presentation.  I miss guy very much and would like you to know I stand tall and stand fast. Peace by with you and may God’s guiding light embrace you in Heaven.

We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of  our dear brother and uncle Art. He was a very strong, kind, loving, and caring man. Our prayers go out to his family at this time. Rest in peace always Art!

Loved my uncle, he was a pillar of strength, love and respected by all. Mom use to say that he hated grandpa's orange truck.  One day he drove it and after that it never ran again. That really made me laugh. Boy he will be missed. Sending my prayers and love. 

I  WOULD LIKE TO  Thank Mr.Art Almanza Sr. For being a great mentor to me. MR.Almanza was a very supportiv e force in my life .He was always there to cheer us on at our Track and Cross Country meets . I could always turn to him for guidance .He always had that big smile when he would speak to me.I will never forget his kindness and his life lessons.Thank you for being in my life.
