Tony was born on October 18, 1937, in Cebu City, Philippines, and was a resident of Santa Ana for 41 years. He was born to Bing Siang Sy and Siko Go Yap. The fourth of eight children, Tony was the eldest son. He studied accounting in college, became a licensed CPA, and owned multiple businesses in the Philippines, including a staple manufacturing company and an insurance agency. After moving to the United States, he opened a Fish and Chips restaurant before beginning a 20-year career with the United States Postal Service, from which he retired in 2006.
A longtime resident of Santa Ana, Tony enjoyed swimming at Los Caballeros Sports Village, relaxing in the jacuzzi, and taking strolls on the beach with his wife, Maria. Tony was also an avid world traveler who loved learning about new cultures. Together with his wife and friends, he visited over 30 countries, including China, Japan, Canada, Russia, and destinations across Eastern and Western Europe.
Tony truly lived the "Good Life." Above all, his favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and enjoy good food. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maria Sypinero; his three children, Darwin, Warren, and Arlynn, along with their spouses, Michelle, Christine, and Vince; and his seven grandchildren: Mikayla, Alexis, Keira, Ethan, Isla, Harrison, and Harper. He loved teasing his grandchildren and especially enjoyed watching them play.
We will miss him dearly, but we take comfort in knowing he is with the Lord our God and that we will see him again.
