Anh An Phan of Arcadia passed away peacefully and quietly at 9:50 PM on Memorial Day May 27, 2024 at the Santa Anita Convalescent Nursing Home. The family would like to thank the workers at the nursing home that cared for and assisted Anh over the years. Anh was born Sept 23, 1936 to mother: Mrs. Muoi Anh Mac and father: Mr. Ve Thua Phan. Anh was married to Ky Thu Phung and they have 5 children. Anh enjoys knitting & sewing and is very proficient at it, always willing to share her knowledge, and willing to help. She was a professional knitter back in Vietnam and supervised a team of workers that would knit sweaters for international export. She runs her family fish pet shop and hand made cigarettes to sell at her family store front. Besides raising her children, she also took care of her mothers-in-law & father-in-law.
Anh and her family immigrated from Haiphong Vietnam and was sponsored by the Elim Baptist Church of Rochester, Minnesota in March 1981 with the help of her youngest brother, Mr. Raymond Phan. In November of 1981 her husband, Ky, passed away unexpectedly. Anh did the best she could during that difficult time with the help of God, church family (the Lewis, the Niebuhr, the Atkins, the Dyck, sorry if I missed others), and friends to raise her children in a foreign land as a single parent. Anh and Ky are Christians, they lived a very simple life. Anh doesn’t ask for more than what God has given her and her family. She was happy that her children are all married and have a family of their own.
Anh is survived by her 5 children: Camha (Sin Tak Ku) Phung, Hai (Khan) Phung, Leha (Van Huynh ) Phung, Alan (Meiyan Zhong) Phung, and Kevin (Le) Phung. 12 grandchildren: Mei Wan, Wai Hung (Kun Li) Ku, Wai Kin, Amy (Hung) Ly, Tracy (Gilbert) Lee, Jennifer (Eugene) Fong, Tony (Emily) Phung, Johnson, Amanda, Sara, Nathan & Myran. 4 great grandchildren: Liam, Dylan, Tiberius, & Oliver; she only wished that they become decent citizens. Anh will now be reunited with her late husband, Ky Thu Phung. Thank you mom and dad, you both are gone but will never be forgotten. Lord, please take care of our parents as they are now reunited with you.
Love & missed you,
Kevin Phung
