The last few times we chatted, it went on for hours, as though we were making up for lost decades. I wondered why no response from the last couple of texts and the DMs. I'm shocked & heartbroken. But, I'm grateful that I was able to share my gratitude for the impact Tracy had on me a growing pre-teen. I regret not moving to Cali when Tracy tried to convince me to, decades ago. I will always remember the larger-than-life personality, who I first met after my sisters brought home a classmate from Tuskegee University. I'll always remember the fearlessness of the Sleep Doctor & thank you for shewing those ole church biddies away from my widowed father. LOL. Love ya to the OR room and back. Your boundless spirit, heart of kindness and joyous soul leave a huge void. I am struck with grief at your passing but know that you were called to a higher purpose and HE needed you more. As a young girl growing up in Fort Smith Ark.,  Tracy Charles at the time now known as, "Dr. Tracy Charles" left an indelible impression upon me.  She was the most Amazing High School cheerleader I'd ever seen. Her dreams were bigger than most could even imagine in Fort Smith and she executed them. She became  Dr. Tracy Charles. She made me feel as if I could be anything I wanted to. I will forever remember her! Rest Well My Friend.

Tracy, my heart aches at the thought of not seeing your smile, hearing your voice, laughing at some absolutely CRAZY thing you have said or done. You are an awesome amazing woman with a love of life that cannot be erased no matter what. My belief is not like many today, i am CONVINCED that i WILL see you again, here on this earth in paradise and we will make up for any time we have lost. You will NOT be sick, you will NOT need a heart or a kidney or anything to improve the quality of life. You will be PERFECT as God intended all of us to be from Day 1 of man’s life here on this earth. We will sit with our mama’s (and Vern and Todd) and we will all talk and laugh and reminisce and give our all to our loving Heavenly Father, Jehovah, for honoring us with the privilege of eternal life in a world with NO tears, NO pain, NO sadness, NO injustice, NO MORE DYING (Revelation 21:4).... until i see you then MyPrecious, i will always always always keep you alive in my mind and in my heart and i will see you as you were on my single visit to California ...  i love you, i cannot wait to see you again.

Cousin Tracy,
You left such an impression on my heart that I never be the same.  I will never forget your kindness from the time I met you at our family reunion in 2008 until your death- always helping others especially family members.  You knew I was burnt out from being caregiver, and you opened your home, clothes, purses, and expensive perfumes to me at time I needed to be pampered.  You have always been my great sounding board and will be truly missed.  I understand that God needed an angel and sent for you. I will keep your memories near to my heart until we meet again in heaven since I know heaven got a lot better now that you are there.
How lucky I was to have known such a wonderful, caring person.

Tracy & I go all the way back to her Grandmother & my Great Grandfather - The Clements Family.
Tracy was a great story teller and I alway enjoyed her stories. She also loved animals and had many dogs through her life and some cats. I know Buddy & Moo Kitty already miss her. They also will miss when I visited, Tracy would let them in the house and we would have so much fun...
Confession is good for the Soul ...

Glad I was there to help Lenard & Tracy celebrate their 20th anniversary .

I worked in Payroll at Charles Drew University Payroll Department as Payroll Supervisor and became to  Close to Dr. Charles because we enter acted a lot because of her Paycheck but Dr. Charles was a Beautiful Person and I Loved her kind Spirit. I remember She attended my Daughter’s Baby Shower.
I will Truly Miss her because I was to Connect with Her before I Retired and Moved to Texas this Spring. May God Bless Her Soul.

I worked with Dr Tracy Charles at Martin Luther King in Labor and Delivery and 2I. She was always kind, generous, funny and loved to spoil your kids.  She would encourage them to do well in school and be the best. No matter where you saw her she was the same like no time had passed always loving. I will always  remember and admire how smart she was and a mind for business. I remember the first time she saw Leonard and we encouraged her to talk to him. We on 2I do take credit for their marriage.  We were so happy for you both. I love you Tracy Charles and I will always remember your kindness, love and generosity.  I know you’re smiling down on us from heaven. Rest In Peace.

I was referred to Dr. Tracy Charles by my colleague James Reed when I was assigned to write an article for the L.A. Sentinel.  An alum of Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, she was willing to take the time to be interviewed.  She called herself the "Lights Out" doctor so that is what we named the article.  To view go to www.lasentinel.net and search "Dr. Tracy Charles."  We became fast friends and I always enjoyed our memorable conversations.  She could have been a comedian because she would throw out these hilarious one-liners and leave all within earshot in stitches.  She carried the gonfalon (pictured), (an honor for alumni) at a recent commencement, she came to sit on panels for students and she donated to many of CDU's causes. 

As we all were, I was shocked and saddened to learn of her passing.  The world has lost a true light.  Rest in heaven, Dr. Charles!
