Alfred M Ybarra passed away on December 4, 2017, three days before his 89th birthday. He was born on December 7, 1928 in La Puente California to Leon and Lenora Ybarra. Alfred is survived by his wife Ernestine (Chris) Ybarra and resides in La Verne, California. Alfred proudly served in the army during the Korean War. After the army, he returned to California and began a life-long career as a barber. He was the owner of Al’s Barber Shop in San Gabriel, CA for over 50 years. Alfred attended Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, San Dimas, CA and was an active member of VFW #3197. He married Amelia Moreno on March 9, 1953 and they were blessed with 4 children. She pre-deceased him on April 14, 1993. Alfred is survived by his sons, Albert (Cyndi) of Tulare, CA; Anthony (Nancy) of Dallas, TX; Art (Laurie) of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; and daughter Anita Ybarra of Playa Del Rey, CA. Grandchildren Rafael (Kerry) Ybarra, Fresno, CA; Joshua (Beka) Ybarra, Fair Oaks, CA; Amanda Ybarra, Allison Ybarra and Marissa Ybarra, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; Jennifer Ybarra and Megan Ybarra, Dallas, TX; and 8 Great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sons, William Ybarra of Spain and Andrew Ybarra of Duarte, CA and brother, Joseph Ybarra of Palm Springs. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary – Sky Rose Chapel. Reception immediately following graveside services at Gardenview Reception Center.
