I first met Tony at a LACECA event in downtown LA. It was a mixer and membership drive. I also believe it was where he met Lupe Durazo.
Tony became a member and long-term supporter of many events and issues for the Chicano/Latino community.
He became an officer and served on the LACECA executive board. You could always count on Tony.
Since that first event, I have also witnessed a strong & loving relationship develop with Lupe. I am sure that they were meant for each other ❤️.
I extend my condolences to Lupe, his family and friends. May you rest in peace mi amigo 🙏

My Condolences to Family. Going to miss you texting when Spurs would play LA Lakers . You’re in a better place Anthony no more pain . May you test in Peace love you Primo 🙏

A dear friend and neighbor in Big Bear! My condolences go out to Lupe and family. Anthony "Tony " passed on way to young but was loved by all. He'll be missed. Heaven is a better place with him there!

I will forever miss our close relationship we had. I couldn't have asked for a more loving, generous brother than you. I know we didn't see each other that often, but our love for each other will always be a presence in my heart. I will miss the fun times we had together. There is a void in my heart that will always be there. I miss you my little brother. God welcomed you into Heaven with open arms, you are now with Mom and our brother Gene. What a glorious reunion! RIP my brother. I will love you always!

I first met Anthony when we were apprentice carpenters in 1977 and it was at apprenticeship school in Whittier by Rio Hondo College. We immediately struck up a friendship that lasted for 46 years. In those days, there was no internet, cell phones, emails to stay in touch so unless you answered the phone or your door, staying in touch was quite different. After we promoted to journeyman carpenters the contact was sparodic for the next 11 years. One highlight I do remember is when my wife and I got married in 1981 Tony was unable to attend our wedding. At the reception held at Industry Hills Sheraton I was asked to take a phone call at a wall phone in the kitchen. It was Tony apologizing for not being able to attend and wishing us well. That's just an example of the kind of man Tony always was. Fast forward to 1988 and I was employed by the City of LA Building and Safety and attending code classes at LA Trade Tech. Tony was in the same class and two years later he was hired to the same B&S office I worked at. I recall helping him with building a garage at his home in Coving and cutting the roof for him. About 5 years later we both transferred to BCA Public Works. We worked together on several projects including the City Hall Seismic Retrofit and LA Police Headquarters where I was the lead Senior. I eventually transferred to LA Airport Dept where I promoted to PCI and ended my career managing inspection on the MSC Terminal Project. Tony was part of my team there and always conducted himself with the best interest of the owner which is quite different from the Tony I knew away from the job. He has been over to my house for barbecues, we attended concerts together over the years and attended quite a few drag racing events at Pomona dragstrip over the years. I have lots of memories of Tony. He was always thoughtful, friendly, and extremely outgoing. The room or event always lit up when Tony was around. He was a good friend and I will miss him always. Rest easy my friend.

I am sooo sad to hear this about Mr Garcia.

He was an exceptional person, inspector and colleague.

Tony, my old friend since Kindergarten. You will be missed by all. I will always remember our formative years at Farmdale Elementary, El Sereno Park, and Wilson High. You were a stellar athlete and good friend to all. May you rest in peace brother.
                                                                           Ronald Estrada, DDS
