William “Bill” Hopper Jr. passed away on April 6, 2022 at the age of 93. Bill was born on May 26, 1928 to Bill and Ethel Hopper in Manzanola, Colorado and grew up in Visalia, California. Bill has two brothers and two sisters. He and his wife, Helen, raised four children in La Mirada, California.
Bill served in the Air Force and then worked for 32 years as an electrical engineer at Hughes Aircraft Company. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of La Mirada for many years. He enjoyed singing in the choir at church and was a member of the Buena Park Chorus. After his retirement, Bill continued to enjoy his hobbies of music and oil painting.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Helen, of 68 years and three children, Cindy, Sandra and John. Bill will be missed by his grandchildren: Ryan, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Jamie, Blake, Riley and two great grandchildren, Oliver and Walker (with two more on the way). Bill was predeceased by his son, Jeff in 2014
Bill always had smile on his face even through all the challenges with neuropathy that plagued his mobility. He was always happy and continued making friends everywhere he went. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for William will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Rose Hills Mortuary, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601. Following the visitation will be a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.
William will be laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601; Lupine Lawn; Gate: 1, Section: 21, Lot: 2479, Grave: 2.
