On Tuesday February 2, 2021 Roger Anibal Escobar, with his wife and his two children by his side, returned to our Heavenly Father after bravely fighting colon cancer. He left on this earth a caring and loving wife, Vilma Escobar, their daughter Xiomara, and son Roger Jr.
Roger had humble beginnings, born on November 18, 1959 in El Salvador. He had a unique upbringing, raised by his grandmother and his stepfather. He had to start working and just 14 and never looked back. He never stopped supporting himself and paid for his own education. For being a man that didn't have the normal family growing up, starting a family was so important to him and it started with meeting his future wife at a bus stop on the way to work and that was the beginning of a love that turned into a 41 year marriage.
Dad loved being an entrepreneur and working in sales. He used his charismatic personality, quick wit and lively sense of humor whether he had an audience of one or a group of people. He also impressed many with his gorgeous hair, which along with his humor, are the strongest traits he passed to his children. He achieved so much, although he had come to this country fleeing a civil war, with only $40 in his pocket.
Only a few days after he passed, he received a lifetime achievement award, having attained $2 million dollars of personal sales. In truth, he achieved much more than any number or financial success. He was the embodiment of the American dream. An immigrant who came to the United States in hopes of a better life for himself and his family. His legacy will continue with the two children he provided for, including paying for their college education. Dad will be forever missed by them and his wife but never forgotten by all those who loved him and enjoyed his company.
The family will be Celebrating his Life on Wednesday, March 17 at Rose Hills in Whittier.
In lieu of flowers if you would like to support the family for Funeral cost please go to this website.
