In so many ways Peggy was like a second grandmother to me. Her and Chuck, my grandfather, were adamant about not marrying just because of not mixing their affairs, but I don't think they realized how inseparable they would be. 

Over the course of 20 years they stayed together. Supporting one another, and loving each other. Some of my favorite memories of them are over at Peggy's house.  Her cooking in the kitchen,  or showing us around the garden. She loved her pulmerias. It's really hoped to find some in a bouquet for her,  but they aren't common, much like the woman who grew them.  

Peggy was the only great grandmother my daughter knew and I still smile when I look at pictures of them. After her stroke things became much harder, and we couldn't keep contact.  I wish the last couple of years had been different, but I wouldn't change a thing about the rest of the years we knew her.
