On March 16, 2021 Nicholas A. Zinelis passed away peacefully at home in Lakewood, Ca at the age of 88. Nicholas was born in the village Kastania , Greece on April 25, 1932. He came to America in 1951 for a better opportunity in life. He worked various jobs, before settling in a career in construction for 29 years. Nick worked extremely hard to provide for his family. He married Margot in 1958 after meeting in New York. Nick cared deeply for his family and was always there to help however he could. He loved to tell, and retell stories from the past and make up jokes. He was a serious businessman, but also loved to laugh and make people laugh. After retiring in 1985, Nick could be found meticulously building and creating projects around the house or for his rentals, and he took great pride in his work. Nick was preceded in death by his parents Andreas and Maria, and his son Christopher. He is survived by his wife, Margot , children Linda and Andy (wife Vicki), grandchildren Laura ( husband Matthew) and Nicholas, great grandchildren Kali, Niko and Leon, and siblings Spiros , Kostas, Diamondo , Litza, Panagiotis , Stelios, and nieces and nephews. Nick “the Greek” will be missed tremendously, we are blessed to have his memories. May he rest eternally in paradise.
Funeral services will be on Friday May 7th 2021, with a viewing from 12:45-1:00pm in the Memorial Chapel, service from 1:00-2:00pm and burial to follow at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, CA.
