Nam Binh Truc, age 73, passed on June 30, 2026 in San Gabriel, CA. He was born on January 3, 1953, in Vietnam. He was a devoted son, brother, father and grandfather. His legacy lives on after a lifetime of exemplifying strong family values and lessons of resilience.
As the oldest son of 10 siblings, he carried his patriarchal responsibilities with pride after his father passed away suddenly. Nam and his young siblings made the difficult journey to risk their lives, escape Vietnam by sea and resided in a refugee camp in Malaysia for a few years. They left for Hong Kong, then New York and eventually established roots in Los Angeles where Nam got married, raised a family and spent the rest of his life.
Although Nam lived a quiet life in his later years, his children will always remember his larger-than-life spirit. He loved traveling, spontaneous family road trips, large social gatherings, fashion, and big family dinners. In the 80s, he owned a supermarket in Alhambra, then became a dedicated stay-at-home father. He was a devout Buddhist and proudly shared his Chinese Vietnamese heritage with his children. His stories, lessons and sacrifices will continue to shape the lives of his family.
His children are grateful that he was present to celebrate their weddings and life milestones. He created so many memories with his grandchildren and beamed with joy and pride every time they were together.
Nam is survived by his mother, three children, five grandchildren, and eight siblings. He will live on forever in the hearts of his loving family.
