Mike was born in Indio, California, to Jesus Ornelas and Josefina Padilla. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 26 years, Delia, his daughters Lisa Ornelas and Tammy Aguirre (Henry); his sisters Rafaela "Lala" Lucero (Herman) and Margie Ruiz; stepsons William Humphrey & James Humphrey; grandsons Alan Salinas (DeAnna), Robert Salinas, Gregory Salinas and Mike Salinas (Jade); granddaughters Britney Salinas and Destiny Aguirre, great grandchildren Isabella Salinas, Samuel Salinas, James Salinas, Legend Salinas, Layla Salinas and Elena Reyes. He also leaves behind numerous nieces & nephews and many friends. Mike was preceded in death by his brothers, Consuelo “Conci”, Cresencio “Cris”, Gregory, sister Lynne and grandson, Mario Paredes “JR”.
Mike worked in the glass business, took pride in his work as a glazier paying attention to detail, his work always meticulous and precise.
He was known to enjoy singing and dancing, his favorite singer being Frank Sinatra. He enjoyed all sports, was pretty good at bowling but golf was his passion. He missed being on the green in his final days.
Services and final internment will be held at the Hillside Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on October 07, 2023, at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd. Whittier, California.
