Mary Lou Stout

Mary Lou was born on February 1, 1941, to Claude N. Finley, a career U.S. Navy man (44 years) and Nola L. Pinkley. The house she was born in and grew up in was on Jackson Street located in an area of Los Angeles County, California that would later be incorporated as the City of Paramount. She attended local schools and was a Girl Scout as a kid.

Mary Lou left Paramount High School to get married on May 16, 1958 and began her family within a year. Civic involvement was important to her. She spent many years volunteering with the PTA at various schools as well as the Paramount Sister City organization. She was also an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution for many years. Family was important to her and many day trips as well as all family vacations generally revolved around spending time with various extended family members.

In 1980 Mary Lou decided to go back to work and began a 20-year career with Paramount Unified School District Food Services. The majority of those years she was the Cafeteria Manager of Lincoln Elementary School in Paramount which is the Elementary School she attended as a kid. When she retired in 2000, they figured she had served millions of meals to kids.

Mary Lou loved making arts and crafts of every kind. Over the years her favorites were crochet, embroidery, latch hook rugs and painting with Artex paints. She loved owls, clowns, cats, and anything nautical, especially sailing ships.

Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband Allen J. Stout. Her sisters Emma Steiner and Claudette Shafer, brother-in-law Dwayne DePriest and Mark Stout and sister-in-law Stephanie Vagasky. Her children Cheryl (Dr. Jay) Angal, Joe Stout, Steve (Teri) Stout and Dr. Dallas (Dr. Debra) Stout. Her Grandchildren Aditya (Cara) Angal, Maya (Matt) Orr, Steve (Michelle) Stout, Neha Angal, Tera Stout, and Dakota Stout. Her Great Grandchildren Leela/Krishna Angal, Sailee Angal, Asha Angal, Kiran Angal, and Sonia Angal.

May 16th would have been her 65th Wedding Anniversary.

A funeral service for Mary Lou will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - SkyRose Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.
