It was around 12am when I was abruptly woken up by my mom with her cell phone in hand saying “here Crystal it’s your uncle he wants to talk to you “ I was shook as to why he wanted to talk to me specially this late!!I took the phone greeted him and he proceeded to tell me if I could sing to him SIEMPRE HACE FRIO but “loud” as he always told me. Soooo shy I told him but tio I have no music??!!! And he said it’s okay like that it was fine, so I began and sang him the song from beginning to end, he was so happy. I may never know As to why he wanted to hear it in that moment but none the less I felt honored that he chose me to hear it from instead of just playing the music itself in the phone. 

He was the last person I sang it to…since you been gone tio siempre hace frio

Tony my beloved brother❤️ It was an honor to have you as my brother. Thank you for all the beautiful moments and the quality time we spent together making memories...these last few months  for sharing your time with me and believing me when I told  you that you have a heart of gold. That you are tall dark and handsome and that pepper hair I always remember your smile and the way you’ll ended.. yup I’m all that and a bag of chips.. that’s right my Tony ❤️😎  I love you my dearest brother . I will carry you in my heat until we meet in heaven .. You will forever be missed ..

We had something special you and I, a very long long friendship where we became family. Never any judgment or taking sides, true pure love and friendship. We wasted time at the end but God had a plan when we had our last family dinner. I hugged you back just as hard and just as long as you hugged me and all was forgotten, just the plan to meet up again for dinner soon. I know how much you cared about the boys and I, I thank you for always looking out for us, I know you are watching over us and don't want us to be sad, but how can we be happy when you are not here. You were such a gentle sole, stubborn as hell but always gentle and loving ❤.  My boys will always remember Nino Tony, they pray for you every night.  We will keep your memory alive and share all those funny crazy memories that we made along the years and keep all your traditions alive and together. I wish I would have told you these words in person. I don’t think you knew how much you truly meant to me. In August 2021, you were there for me when I needed someone to help me. I arrived at your shop broken and in tears. You said, “Jaz, let me take you to my house.” I said, “no.” And you continued and asked again, “Come on Jaz, we’ll go pick up your stuff and you can shower at my house, come on!” Tio I could no longer say no. When you wanted something or wanted to help, you had so much passion and could not take no for an answer. I loved that about you.  You were so kind to me and it was just what I needed, someone to just be there. You kept your word, we went to pick up my stuff and then headed to your house. You insisted I shower in your remodeled bathroom. You were so cute. You asked me, “what’s your favorite color?” I said, “blue.” You then made your lamp turn blue. You then said, “Ok, now connect your phone to the Bluetooth so you can listen to your favorite music while you shower!” I smiled and did what you said. You then handed me a towel and said “Ok take your time and relax. I’m going to lock the door.” Tio you picked me up when I was down, and I will forever cherish the memories you created with not only me but with our family too. Thank you for never letting me forget about my dad. For all the stories you would tell me about him. I know he helped God open the gates for you. Thank you Tio. You will forever be in my heart. I love you Tio Tonio.

Looking at all the pics everyone has posted of you just shows how many people you touched in your lifetime Big Tony. We met on the baseball diamond and that's where I first got a glimpse of the great person you were. How you went above and beyond to make everyone on the team feel welcome and part of what we wanted to build, that's why you were the GM. After your playing days were over we didn't see each other often but I felt you were a phone call away if I ever needed something. That day came when my then 15 year old son was diagnosed with cancer, you were one of the first to check-up on me and my son. You regularly text me or called me to strengthen my faith in God and to keep my son and family in your prayers. Thanks Big Tony for being there in many ways. R.I.P brotha, you will be missed greatly. 

Tony, (My Best Cousin,,, My Lil Brother)  I never got to say Good bye 💔 Even though I can’t see or hear you anymore I know you will always be by my side My Beautiful Angel 🙏🏻 Thank you so much for everything you did for me & my kids and  for all the good memories. I will cherish them forever. I was soooo lucky to have you as my cousin. U will always have a special place in my heart. Tony - baloney, my name of endearment for you for many years.  Fate brought us together when we were barely understanding what life was all about.  At times we were not each other’s favorite person, with maturity and the love we shared for our amazing daughter we moved passed that.  God guided us to respect each other and love each other again as dear friends and the blessed parents of Mireya- Arlene. 

I am indebted to you for giving me the best surprise gift of my life. Never did we expect or plan to be parents at such a young age. Through the relationship struggles and challenges of being a young mother I would not change a thing.  Thank you for giving me our daughter.

We would talk for hours when we did,  well you will talk my ear off.   At the end of our conversation you would remind me to call you if I ever needed anything or if anybody was doing me wrong.  You were always a defender, kind hearted , awesome grandad and a chismoso (LOL) I mean that in the kindest way because your stories would always make me laugh.  We departed our conversation with “I’m sorry” for the bad past and with “love you”, for who we are today.

I hate that I can no longer pick up the phone to hear your voice on the other end. 

I still got your number in my phone and even though you don’t know I listen. I still call and wait til the tone, just to hear you say “Leave a message”. I check my text messages from you and tempted to reply but I know I wouldn’t get a response back.  I can’t believe your gone and how you were taken way too soon, It ain't the same here without you.  I have to say, missing you comes in waves, 

I know you're in a better place and one day our paths will cross again, until then I got Arlene and Monito for you down here! 💙

Miss the advice on life you always had for me.

My Tio Tony, idk which memory to write about since now they’re more meaningful to me so I’ll just choose a small few that are deep in my heart. Because of you tio, you taught me the best way to make quesadillas!! You showed me Munster cheese, now I don’t make them any other way! You introduced me to the movies Mortal Kombat and Underworld whenever I’d have sleepovers at your house with Arlenie.  I remember helping ironing your shirts when I was little and then fetching you your Diet Coke at Tams at the shop. I’ll never forget that at one point in time we texted everyday for over a month so I can show you support for stopping smoking… we texted everyday and all day, I’d send you encouraging quotes and told you I believed in you. I remember one day being at a court office and you taking me and Gallito to Wendy’s when we were little and you told me “idk how you do it mija, with everything of your parents. You grew up too fast and are a strong little girl”. I’ve always held on to those words and have kept them close. I’ll always remember how much fun everyone would have when you’d come down to AZ during the summer and we’d play card and money games. You’ll be missed tio, I think I’ll always look for you at family gatherings to say hi but now all we gotta do is look up and say hi no matter how far you are. Love you tio, -Angie Valdivia

This was one of the last days we saw you Oct 4. We took Dom to the shop and you were so happy to have him there you even said “look Dom this is your Tio’s shop.” You gave us a gift for him, that I will always cherish. You even said he was going to be a Steelers fan and you were going to buy him his first jersey. I promise to tell Dom the great person you were and how he was so lucky to have a tio like you I know you will be watching down on him. We love you so much Nino we miss you. 

Our padrinos. We will never forget that day when you both surprised us with our honeymoon trip. You always made us feel so loved. You made a huge impact in our lives Nino we are so blessed  to have the memories we have with you and we will always remember them.  We love and miss you Nino. 

My dear Tony! Thank you for letting me be part of 26 years of your wonderful life, Thank you for my wonderful kids you give me, I'll try my best to always make sure they remember how much you always love them. Oh Mr. Valdivia you always had my heart and Now all I have are beautiful memories that I will cherish in my heart and they will always bring a smile that will give me strength to move on with out you here by my side.
