Manuel R Jurado

Our Father was a complex man who taught us to work hard and honor our commitments. He was born in Sierra Blanca, Texas to Francisco and Benigna Jurado. He had three brothers (Roberto, Pancho & Jesus) and six sisters (Elisa, Emma, Belen, Rita, Margarita & Benigna) He worked hard to help support his family and was never afraid to try new jobs. He worked for the railroad, he built missile silos, he was a finishing carpenter all before he started his greatest adventure.

He married our mother Elisa Martinez in 1959 and started their journey together in Abilene Texas, where they had their son Mario and daughter Teresa. Then the decided to head west to California and welcomed another daughter Victoria and son Manuel Jr. They had a wonderful marriage and gave their children a wonderful childhood full of adventures; Sunday was also Church in the morning then off to explore…the beach, hiking the San Gabriel mountains, Vasquez Rocks and always looking for fun new destinations.

He worked for Thermador and enjoyed the many challenges and was admired by his peers. He would often help the Engineers make a correction to save a project. I still remember picking him up from work and how proud he always looked wearing his badge….#867.

Our dad was a strong personality and often times thought to be too tough but he also had a very kind and generous side, especially when no one was watching.

His move to Saugus came after our Mother passed and we enjoyed 21 years with him which were filled with many memories and adventures to Lake Tahoe, Vegas and his favorite Maui.

Dad, loved his wife (Elisa), his 4 children (Mario, Terie, Victoria & Manuel) his 8 grandchildren (Nickole, Melissa, Marq, Adria, Erica, Jessica, Daniel & Christopher) and his 3 great grandchildren (Ethan, Lailah & Anthony)

He will truly be missed and will be in our hearts forever. Now he has joined our Mom & sweet Brother Mario in heaven.

It was an honor to have you as our Father, we love you Dad.

A visitation in chapel for Manuel will be held Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Hillside Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 6, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.

Manuel will be laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601; Trinity Lawn; Gate: 1, Section: 5, Lot: 3110, Grave: 1.
