Job “Chico” Luna Gutierrez

Job Luna Gutierrez, more affectionately known as Chico, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the age of 88 in Richland, WA. Chico was born in Los Angeles, CA on February 15, 1935 to Lorenzo and Petra Gutierrez. Chico is survived by the love of his life, Mary (Molly) Louise Gutierrez, and two daughters Eileen Vara (Ismael) and Loretta Gutierrez. He is greatly loved by his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. He felt the love and support in his final days from brother and sister-in-law, his nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

To meet Chico once you are his friend. To meet him twice, you became a part of his family. He loved hearing stories of his family and friend’s adventures in life and enjoyed telling stories of the numerous adventures he had with Molly. They had many wonderful trips to Hawaii, Grand Canyon, Washington, Las Vegas, Cancun to name a few. Chico loved watching the USC Trojans football team, attending many games with family and friends.

Chico was a Man of Faith and even in his final days, held strong in his belief he would be with the Lord. He was a servant to the Lord through his acts of service to the church. “If I take care of the church, the church will take care of my house.” is a belief he stood firm in during his final days knowing Molly would be taken care of when he could no longer care for her himself. Family and friends knew they could call Chico any time of need and they would always leave uplifted knowing they were on his prayer list.

Molly and family would like to thank you for your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. A visitation for Job will be held Tuesday April 4, 2023, from 5 pm to 9 pm at Rose Hills Mortuary,3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 3 pm to 4 pm at Rose Hills Memorial Park – Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601.

Chico will be laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601; Autumn Terrace; Gate 1, Section 14, Lot 2948, Grave: 2.
