I just happened to come across Helen’s obituary. My condolences to the Hopper family.
Your mother was the nicest lady, always smiled, laughed easily, always asked me about school. I always liked her, what a cool mom she must have been. Im close in age with the Hopper kids. Our families were all members of the La Mirada Presbyterian Church and our moms were Deacons as I recalled. The last time I saw Helen and Bill was at a restaurant in Whittier in 2005. My mom was fighting an uphill battle with cancer. Helen was so gracious inquiring about my mom and dad and recalling memories of past church events. I still remember that conversation like it was last week. Helen really left an impression on me. A wonderful lady she was!
Sincerely, Jim Wagner

Helen was such a beautiful soul! She had a contagious smile and laughter. I’m her baby sister, although I didn’t grow up with her, she was never a stranger. She had graduated high school and moved to California before I was even born. But as we aged and most especially the past several years with technology, we stayed in touch regularly. She and Bill were always laughing and smiling. I will miss my chats with her and our texts and sharing of family pictures. I loved her deeply and she will be greatly missed,
