Gilbert P Hernandez

A celebration of his life service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, May 31 at Rose Hills Memorial Park in the Memorial Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601.

Gilbert was born on October 3, 1929 in Chavez Ravine, California, "aka" Dodger Stadium. On August 30, 1945 he married his sweetheart Esther Santos. Gil and Esther had three beautiful daughters, Irene, Vicki and Rose. He spent 38 years in construction and took great pride in his work.

Gilbert lived life to fullest. He enjoyed baseball and football. His favorite teams were the Dodgers, the Rams and the Raiders. He loved to travel and take long road trips. Some places he enjoyed were Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico and Las Vegas. Some of his passions were gardening, playing guitar, eating out, and most of all spending time with his family.

Family was everything to Gil and he was everything to his family. He would spend many weekends at family events. From holiday gatherings, to birthday parties, to sporting events and Sunday brunches, Gil was always ready to celebrate.

Gil is survived by his wife Esther, his two daughters Irene and Rose, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Vicki.
