1934-2024
With heavy hearts we are announcing the passing of Edward Leroy Clark. Ed passed away at his home in Temecula on January 12, 2024. He was 89 years old. Ed passed peacefully from natural causes while surrounded by family. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Hope Clark. He is survived by his three children, Elaine Miller (Richard), Edward Clark Jr. (Patricia), and Melinda Howard (Tom). His family includes 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren with one on the way. Ed was preceded in death by his younger brothers, Basil “Dean” and George Clark.
Edward was born on February 11, 1934 in Wilmar California. He attended San Gabriel High School and graduated from Chaffey College. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Ed married Judith Ann Huling on August 17, 1953. During their 44 year marriage they raised their family in Upland and Cerritos before retiring to Hemet. Judy passed away February 6, 1998.
Ed married Hope Davis on October 23, 1999. They have enjoyed many years of traveling which included 17 cruises. They loved dancing together to the big band sounds and 50’s music.
Ed retired after 33 years of working for Southern California Edison. In 1999 Ed became a member of the Catholic Church. For 20 years he served in the Knights of Columbus for the Ramona Assembly 1733. He served as Grand Knight and Navigator. In 2023 Ed was inducted into the Sons of the American Revolution.
Ed was a loving father, an exceptional “gramps” and great “gramps”. He spent many hours coaching youth sports for both his kids and grandkids. Ed is fondly remembered for his love of speed. Some of his best memories came from him racing his cars, boats and motorcycles while family cheered. He was a talented musician in both his saxophone and his clarinet.
Most importantly, Ed had a deep love and commitment to family and friends. The Clark family is grateful for the very best of countless memories. The strength of his presence, love and guidance will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
