Cecelia Marie Rodriguez

Cecelia was born to Ramon and Mary Teresa Segura and grew up in Santa Fe Springs, California, alongside her sisters, Ginger and Elaine (Bobby). Santa Fe Springs remained the heart of her family’s home and a special part of Cecelia’s life. Family was always at the center of her world, and she loved deeply and generously.

Cecelia shared an especially close bond with her mother, Mary Teresa, who was also her best friend. Their daily phone calls were a treasured part of their lives. They could talk for hours about everything and nothing at all, often simply laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Their friendship and the joy they found in one another were truly special.

She was the loving mother of Gary (Lina) and Jennifer (Jason). She was a proud and loving grandmother to her seven grandchildren: Little Gary, Anthony, Luke, Levi, Andrew, Angie, and Lane. Being a grandmother brought Cecelia great joy. Her love and interest in their lives never faded. She always wanted to know what each of her grandchildren was doing, how they were doing, and what was happening in their lives. She remained deeply connected and incredibly proud of all seven of her grandchildren.

In 1995, Cecelia met her longtime partner, Felipe. Together they shared a life filled with years of companionship, love, family, and memories.

Cecelia was a beloved Auntie to her nieces, Renee, Michele, and Nicole, and her nephew, John. She shared a special love for her family and treasured the relationships she had with each of them.

Cecelia was preceded in death by her father, Ramon Segura; Gary Rodriguez, the father of her son, Gary; Ronnie Morquecho, the father of her daughter, Jennifer; her son-in-law, Jason; her beloved nephew John; her beloved great-nephew Robbie; and her beloved godson Paulie. Each held an important place in Cecelia’s life and in the story of her family.

Cecelia was a kind and generous soul who loved her family and friends fiercely. She was thoughtful, loving, and wonderfully scattered-brained at times—a trait that only made her more endearing to those who knew her best. She was the fun and unforgettable Auntie, the one people loved being around and whose presence brought laughter and warmth.

A devout Christian, Cecelia’s faith was an important part of her life. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace and has begun her journey home to Heaven.

Cecelia is survived by her mother, Mary Teresa Segura; her children, Gary (Lina) and Jennifer; her grandchildren, Little Gary, Anthony, Luke, Levi, Andrew, Angie, and Lane; her sisters, Ginger and Elaine (Bobby); her longtime partner, Felipe; her nieces, Renee, Michele, and Nicole; her extended family; and her best friend of 60 years, Rosie.

She was deeply loved, and she will never be forgotten
