Arthur Mendoza Muñoz was born to Uvaldo Aguilera Muñoz and Benita Mendoza Muñoz, March 3, 1959. He was born in Lynwood, California at St. Francis Hospital. He was the eldest of five children, Henry, Martha, Margaret and Doreen.
Arthur graduated from South Gate High School in 1977 and married his first wife, Melinda. They had three children Charlene, Anthony and Vanessa.
Arthur met and married Maria Monroy and they combined their families together. Stephanie, David, Anthony and with the addition of Arthur Jr. the family was complete.
An LA Harbor College baseball state champion, he devoted his life to coaching, mentoring and building up his family and community through sports.
What got Art through the last two years of treatment was Art’s love for life, family and friends. He never gave up no matter how tired he was; his family tirelessly cared and supported him. We all admired his strength and faith in God. He loved talking to his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Art is survived by his wife Maria, 7 children, 8 grandchildren, his brother, 3 sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
