A cherished memory I’d like to share about Mr. Alan Thompson, Sr. is from a unique chapter of my life when we were bus mates on the Foothill Transit. For five years, during my time as a healthcare business consultant with Arthur Andersen, I often commuted from Rowland Heights to downtown Los Angeles. On the days I wasn’t traveling across the country, what we consultants called being “on the beach,” I’d head into our LA office and catch the early bus.

Without fail, Mr. Thompson would be waiting at the stop on Colima Rd, and together we’d ride into the city. Those shared rides were more than just a commute; they were moments of quiet camaraderie and mutual respect. In a bustling city, he brought a sense of calm and dignity to the journey. I’ll always remember those mornings with gratitude and fondness.

My condolences to Marisa, Alan, Jr., and the rest of the Thompson Family.
